Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how https://oakbridge.in, operated by Oakbridge Publishing Pvt. Ltd., uses cookies and similar technologies (your browser's local and session storage, and tracking in our emails), and the choices you have. It forms part of our Privacy Policy.

1. Strictly necessary — always on

The Site cannot work without these, so they are not switched off by the banner. They are first-party only, and are not used for advertising or shared with anyone.

  • oakbridge_token (local storage) — keeps you signed in. Kept until you sign out.
  • oakbridge_cart_v1 (local storage) — remembers your cart. Kept until you clear it or place your order.
  • oakbridge_cookie_consent (local storage) — remembers your banner choices. Kept until you change them.
  • oakbridge_attribution (session storage) — the campaign tag of the link you arrived through (for example one of our emails), so we know which of our own campaigns led to an order. Discarded when you close the tab.
  • oakbridge_visit_sent, oakbridge_step_…, oakbridge_counted (session storage) — make sure a visit and each shopping step are counted only once in our anonymous visit totals. They hold no personal data and are discarded when you close the tab.
  • oakbridge_staff (local storage) — set only on a browser where an Oakbridge staff account has signed in, so our own team is left out of the visit totals.

The campaign tag holds no personal data. If you place an order during that visit, the tag is saved with the order so we can measure our own campaigns; it is not shared.

2. Optional — only if you switch them on

The banner asks about each of these separately. Nothing is pre-ticked, and rejecting is one click, exactly like accepting.

Analytics (PostHog). Pages opened, titles viewed, and where people run into trouble while buying. If you agree, PostHog stores an identifier in a first-party cookie and in local storage (names beginning "ph_") so visits can be counted. If you do not agree, the analytics script is never downloaded at all.

Analytics — where you first came from. If you agree to analytics, we also keep oakbridge_attribution_30d in your browser's local storage: the link or email you first arrived from (for example "our October newsletter" or "a Google search"), for up to 30 days, so an order you place later can be credited to it. It holds no personal data and is not shared. Turning analytics off deletes it straight away.

Session recording (PostHog). Off unless you choose it, and only together with analytics. It records how a page was used — clicks, scrolling, the shape of the page — so we can see where checkout goes wrong. Everything you type is masked in your browser before it is sent, and so is text shown about you: your name, address, email and order details are never captured.

Marketing. Advertising and remarketing cookies. We run none today. The switch exists so that we would have to ask you before we ever started.

3. Third parties at checkout and in the page

  • Razorpay, our payment partner, loads its secure checkout when you pay and may set its own cookies there to process and protect the payment. These are governed by Razorpay's cookie and privacy policies.
  • Google Fonts supplies the Site's typefaces; your browser requests them from Google's servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request. No cookies are set for this.

4. Tracking in our marketing emails

Our marketing emails (sent only if you opted in) contain a tiny image that tells us when an email is opened, and links that pass through our own address (api.oakbridge.in) so we know which link was clicked before taking you to the page. We use this to learn which emails are useful, to stop mailing people who never open them, and to measure orders that follow. Some email apps open or load images automatically, so an "open" is an estimate. You can block images in your email app, and you can unsubscribe in one click from any marketing email. Our order and account emails do not contain this open tracking.

5. Changing your mind

Select Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page. The same choices open again, and turning something off stops it immediately; withdrawing is as easy as agreeing was. You can also clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings, which will sign you out and empty your cart.

6. Changes

If we add a genuinely new purpose, we will update this policy and ask you again rather than treating an earlier "yes" as covering it.
